Moving On Campus
We are very excited to welcome you home (or back home) to Texas A&M University at Galveston!
Please use the information below as well as updates sent to your university email to help prepare you for move-in.
At Texas A&M University at Galveston, we believe in providing the best residential experience for our students that enables them to safely live and learn. As per University Student Rules, ALL students are required to live in on-campus housing, as space is available. Exceptions may be made in some circumstances (listed below). Any student hoping to live off-campus is required to apply for permission to live off-campus with TAMUG Campus Living & Learning. The application to live on campus can be found here.
Applying for Fall 2023:
Returning students (current Spring 2023 residents) should complete the 2023-2024 housing application in the spring semester but will not be able to immediately select a fall space. Those with a completed application will be able to self-select their housing space in April.
Newly admitted students (incoming students for fall 2023) can complete the 2023-2024 housing application now but will not be able to immediately select a fall space. Those who apply prior to May 1st will be given selection timeslots and will be able to self-select their housing space in mid-May.
Late applications will be manually assigned a space by CL&L staff.

NSC - Galveston Majors: August 7th-8th (Students will not be able to stay on campus overnight.)
Last Chance NSC: August 17th & 18th
Howdy Week #1:* August 9th-11th (Move-in on the 9th)
Howdy Week #2: August 15th-17th (Move-in on the 15th)
Texas A&M Maritime Academy O-Week (for freshman cadets) August 9th-14th
SALT Camp #1:* August 13th-15th (off-campus, with move-in and leaving from campus on the 13th)
SALT Camp #2: August 18th-20th (off-campus, with move-in and leaving from campus on the 18th)
*Howdy Week #1 / SALT Camp #1 students are required to return home (but can leave items in their room) until the General Move-In period. As a general rule, if your August university activity ends prior to the start of the General Move-In period, you must return home until General Move-in.
General Fall 2023 Move-In will begin at 9AM on Friday, August 18th and continue throughout the weekend. Fall 2023 classes begin on Monday, August 21st.
The dining hall will open for the fall semester for dinner on Sunday, August 20th.
Early Arrival
Early arrival requests must be completed through the housing portal, and the application to do so will open in May. A daily rate may apply and be charged to your student account.
